TrinityBridge partners with solo sailor Gunnar Christensen to champion ambition, purpose and life's next chapter

The partnership reflects TrinityBridge's belief that financial planning is about more than preserving and growing wealth. It is about helping people live with confidence, clarity and purpose through every stage of life, including retirement and beyond.

As a Gold Sponsor of Gunnar's campaign, TrinityBridge will support his preparations for the 30,000-nautical-mile solo circumnavigation, a race sailed entirely in the spirit of the original 1968 event. Competitors navigate without modern electronic aids, relying instead on traditional seamanship, celestial navigation, resilience and meticulous preparation.

For Gunnar, the race represents the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition. After a lifetime spent sailing professionally for others, he is now embarking on his own extraordinary challenge, demonstrating that retirement can be the beginning of a new adventure rather than the end of one.

The partnership forms part of TrinityBridge's wider Dreams campaign, which seeks to challenge traditional perceptions of retirement and encourage people to think differently about what comes next. Through real stories of ambition, purpose and personal fulfilment, the campaign explores how thoughtful financial planning can help turn long-held aspirations into reality.

At TrinityBridge, we believe retirement should be viewed as an opportunity, not an ending. For many people, it can be a chance to pursue ambitions that have been years in the making, whether that's starting a new venture, dedicating time to a passion, travelling the world or taking on a challenge that once seemed out of reach. Gunnar's story perfectly captures that spirit. His Golden Globe Race campaign is the culmination of years of preparation, determination and belief in what's possible. It reflects many of the same principles that underpin successful financial planning: thinking ahead, preparing carefully and having the confidence to chart your own course. Through this partnership, we hope to inspire more conversations about living well in later life and what can be achieved when people have both the freedom and the confidence to pursue their dreams.
Suzanne Collins, Head of Marketing at TrinityBridge
Competing in the Golden Globe Race has been a dream of mine for many years. It's an immense challenge that demands patience, preparation and a willingness to step into the unknown. What attracted me to TrinityBridge was a shared belief that life's later chapters can be some of the most rewarding. Retirement doesn't have to mean slowing down. It can be an opportunity to take on new challenges, follow long-held ambitions and continue growing as a person. Preparing for a race like this takes commitment and planning over many years, and that's why this partnership feels such a natural fit. I'm proud to be working with TrinityBridge as I prepare for the adventure ahead.
Gunnar Christensen

The Golden Globe Race departs from Les Sables-d'Olonne, France, in September 2026 and will see sailors navigate non-stop around the world via the Cape of Good Hope, Cape Leeuwin and Cape Horn before returning to France.

Through regular updates, interviews and campaign content, TrinityBridge and Gunnar will share insights from the journey, encouraging people to reflect on their own ambitions and how they can prepare for the next chapter of life.
